Magnetic Mani

WoWzers! I'm stunned to see that I have 42 people following my blog~ that completely blows my mind! Blogging is such an amazingly fun way to connect with people all over the world who love nail polish/nail art as much as (or more than?!) me. :P I keep wondering why it took me so long to find this awesome world of incredible people?!?! All I know is, I'm glad I'm blogging and I'm thrilled you're here to read it. *.*

Today's mani is the Magnetic Polish from nails inc. London. I literally thought I would die if I didn't have this polish, so I ordered it the moment I saw it on Sephora. This manicure shows houses of parliament. 

I definitely like the purplish metallic hue. What do you think?

The magnet comes in the handy dandy pop off lid, so once you master the art of using the magnet without touching it directly to the polish, you will have achieved magnetic success! Ta da!

Half Moons

Today's mani is my very first free-hand half moon manicure. I was pretty nervous about trying to get the curve perfect, but I think I did a fairly decent job.

 For this mani, I used China Glaze Bahamian Escape and Harmony.

Lacquistry Shredded

Today I have a very special surprise for you…and one that I can’t stop talking about: Lacquisty Nail polish! This week I got my extra special nail mail from Jenna, along with a very sweet and personalized note. She is one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of purchasing a product from and I am already looking forward to my next trip to her shop on etsy.com! 

On to the goodies~ here are the lovely Aqua Shredded and Silver Holo Shredded. (Sometimes I just sit and look at the bottles because they are so pretty!)

Now to my manis. I applied 2 coats of Silver Holo Shredded over 1 coat of Finger Paints Black Expressionism. I had to use artificial lighting, but the beauty was not lost on this breathtaking polish.

Playing with the Aqua Shredded, this time I opted to try layering 1 coat over my 2 coats of Silver Holo Shredded…and I nearly passed OUT!!!! 

LOOK AT THIS GORGEOUSNESS!!!

 I LOVE this look! This may be my favorite Lacquistry polish combo (at this very second (I change my mind constantly!)) I have so many colors to try these Shredded polishes over. Hmmmm…. What a wonderful dilemma! =)

Sideways Marble

It’s a snowy Saturday here in Michigan, which means it’s a perfect day to cozy up in my nail nook and do some nail art! I’ve set my little studio up in my upstairs guest bedroom, where it gets very warm and toasty. When I leave my little haven after hours of mani bliss, I nearly freeze in the rest of my house. This may become a problem this summer, however, when I am not relishing the comfort of the cozy heat!

On to my mani! I have been doing marbling and I thought I would stick with it again. This one is a bit different because I pulled the colors sideways instead of up and down. I wanted to see if I could achieve a different effect this time.

I used all China Glaze polishes: Up All Night for the base color, and then I added Light As Air and Fairy Dust. I put on one coat of Up All Night and let it dry first. Then I applied another light coat of Up All Night over my entire nail, a strip of Light As Air, and a strip of Fairy Dust. With the polish still wet, I quickly (and very lightly) pulled the polish with a tiny brush back and forth from side to side.

This is how my mani turned out! 

Hopefully that makes sense~ I was pretty happy with the end result. This is the first time I tried marbling with a brush (rather than a dotting tool) and I really preferred it. What do you think? Have you tried this technique before?

Bulls Eye!

Hey~It's Friday already! YaY! 

I've been busy as ever practicing designs to share with you. This triple-dot pattern was fun and easy...it just required a bit of patience while I waited for my dots to dry. +.+ (Twiddling my thumbs while I sit here...wait...DON'T SMEAR THE POLISH!!! Note to self:Do NOT twiddle your thumbs when waiting for nail polish to dry.)

For this mani, I used China Glaze White on White and Liquid Leather. I also put a red rhinestone on each finger to give it that little extra somethin' somethin', ya know?

This is how my bulls eye turned out! What do you think?

80's Marble

After my marbling experience last week, I decided it was time to really start playing around with some fun colors. After much deliberation...(I wasted wa-ay too much time staring at my lovely lacquer collection)...I finally decided on some of my bright China Glazes. As soon as I pulled my three colors, I immediately flashed back to the 80's and my favorite tie-dye shirt. >o<

I used CG Sexy In The City for the blue, CG Kiwi Cool-Ada for the green, and Celtic Sun (Neon) for the yellow. The marbling effect was created by using a dotting tool and dragging the colors together gently on each side of the Kiwi Cool-Ada.

This is how they turned out! 

 

This is one of my favorite manicures. However, I practically needed sunglasses to look at it because it was soooo bright!

Spotty Giraffe

Happy Tuesday! It's cloudy and cold here today, so I decided to try something that made me think of warmth and sunshine for my manicure...and the first thing that popped into my mind was a safari!

Since I've done a lot of zebra prints already, I decided to try out a new pattern this time. And I'm very happy to say that I found a fun way to make brown look even more fantastic! I used a white striping brush and painted 6-sided hexagons over the brown and turned my tips into spectacularly spotty giraffes. :)

For this mani, I used Finger Paints Artist's Inspiration and It's So Easy Stripe Rite in White.

Do you see my CG Happy Go Lucky peeking through? lol...I almost made my giraffe yellow! Oopsies! I think they turned out much better with brown. What do you think?

Line With A Dash

Today has been so dreary and drizzly here at my house, so I thought it would be fun to do a manicure with some jazz. Check out what I came up with!

This mani was done with China Glaze For Audrey. The striping in It's So Easy Stripe Rite is in Black and Pearl Violet and the LA Colors Art Deco Striping polishes are in White and Sea Foam Green. I added a dash of flair with violet rhinestones.

 

My lines seem to be getting better and better...and I LOVE using rhinestones~for me, the more bling, the better. What do you think?

Zebra Gradient

Aye Carumba! I make such a MESS when I do gradients! This time, I tried taping around my nails to keep the clean-up down to a bit, but I still had a heap of polish on my cuticles. Apparently I need to work on my taping and sponging skills! >.< 

Fortunately, the end result turned out pretty great. I'm loving the zebra stripes lately.

This mani was done in a sponging gradient, beginning with China Glaze Up All Night, then CG Coconut Kiss, CG Shower Together, and ending with CG Bahamian Escape at the tips. The zebra stripes were done in LA Colors Art Deco in Black.

Pointillism Polished

This manicure was inspired by Pointillism artist, Georges Seurat.

I love the way a Seurat painting is filled with overlapping dots, so I decided to start a mini-series of Pointillism polished nails dedicated entirely in his honor. I painted these pretties using China Glaze For Audrey as my background color. Dots were added in CG White on White, and CG Liquid Leather. I also used striping brushes It's So Easy Stripe Rite in Pearl Violet and the LA Colors Art Deco in White and Sea Foam Green. When I finished dotting, I completed my look with a violet rhinestone on each nail to add a touch of flair!

 

I'm loving this manicure and the colors! I think my next Pointillism mani will be hot colors (reds, yellows, oranges) just to get a different feel. What do you think?
