Watercolor Wash

Happy Friday everyone & welcome newcomers! I'm so happy to see so many new faces visiting and following me~ I never imagined that I'd have 10 people reading my blog, let alone over 50!! =) Imagine my surprise! *o*

For my mani I had sooo much fun playing with the polish! Here's kind of a step by step of how I did mine. (Lots of people are doing these right now, so I was inspired by many nail artists when I prepped for this one~thanks to all of you!) =)

For a watercolor effect, put on a base color first: I chose Something Sweet by China Glaze. After 2 coats, I sealed it with a coat of Seche Vite.

Next, I applied approximately 3 dots of CG Strawberry Fields to each nail. Then I took a clean paintbrush (one that is fuller than my normal detailing brush), dipped it into acetone, and very lightly spread the Strawberry Fields dots around my nail. It turned into a "super soft" washed sort of effect.

Then I repeated the step, using CG Sky High-Top (BLUE). The blue immediately blended in with the Strawberry Fields and some areas became a lovely glimmery violet. *.* I sealed off the watercolor wash with a quick coat of Seche Vite.

For my first watercolor mani, I am very pleased with the gorgeous wash-effect and I am looking forward to doing many more of these in the future.
What do you think of my watercolor mani?
Have you tried watercolor manicures already? What colors should I try together next time?
I hope you enjoyed & Happy Lacquering! =)
