Emily de Molly "When Planets Collide"

Hello Lovelies! I am really, really, REALLY excited about today's post. There are very few words to accurately describe Emily de Molly's "When Planets Collide" simply because it is EPIC. (Yes, I used that word.) Pure perfection in a bottle. Sheer heaven on my fingertips...ok, I'll show you the pics.

This is three coats of Emily de Molly "When Planets Collide".
"When Planets Collide" has a black jelly base with blue, turquoise holo, and orange glitter. It went on very smoothly and dried in record time.
I used one coat of Seche Vite as a top coat.
I can NOT stop staring at my nails! I am in love with this polish. Ahhhhh....

Emily de Molly polishes are made in Australia, so the only way we can get these GORGEOUS polishes is to order them through Llarowe. And stalking Llarowe is usually necessary in order to get the Emily de Molly polish you are lemming most. :0)

Hence, you must do the following:
1) Follow Llarowe on FB. Watch and stalk for launches of Emily de Molly.
2) Go to Llarowe's website and check her launch/restock dates page. Also look up the Emily de Molly page to get your wishlist in order so you're prepared for launch day. Preparation is the KEY to a successful mission!
3) Visit Emily de Molly on etsy. It is a wonderful droooool fest! And bring kleenex if you are like me (and don't live in Australia). Oh, how I would LOOOVE to fill my etsy cart and dash to the check out, giggling like a silly school girl!!! Lol!

Do you own any Emily de Molly polish? Which one is your favorite?

I hope you have a fantastic day and as always,
Happy Lacquering! =)

KB Shimmer Don't Teal Anyone

Hello Lovelies! I'm here with another KB Shimmer Polish called Don't Teal Anyone. The polish is described as "a deep teal base with gold, teal, blue, navy and fuchsia hexes in several sizes, and micro fuchsia bars".

This polish is so pretty! It's beautiful inside (the bottle) and out. =)
I could (ahem~and should) have EASILY stopped with two coats, but I have a serious glitter addiction...so I went with three. I should have only used two because it caused my mani to turn out looking waaaaay too thick for my liking.
Don't Teal Anyone dried very quickly after each of the coats I applied.
I used two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it out.
One surprise to Don't Teal Anyone is that it's actually a darker teal than it photographs.

You can find Christy on FB and her homepage. KB Shimmer products can also be purchased on etsy. Christy has other products as well that I have heard rave reviews about.

Have a great day and as always,
Happy Lacquering! =)

KB Shimmer Oh Splat!

Hello Lovelies! Today I have another polish from KB Shimmer to share with you called Oh Splat! I was enamored with this particular polish because, speaking as an art teacher, rainbow splats are beautiful. =)

This polish was no exception. Oh Splat! made perfect little multi-colored and splattered rainbows on my tiny little canvases.
This is three coats of Oh Splat! covered with two coats of Seche Vite top coat.
Oh Splat! was perfect in consistency, not too thick or thin, and it was very easy to layer. I had fun watching the rainbows pop over each other with every coat!
I like the "splatterish" look and feel of this polish and I will definitely wear it again.

You can find Christy on FB and her homepage. KB Shimmer products can also be purchased on etsy. Christy has other products as well that I have heard great reviews about. Keep a look out for my next post(s)...I have more KB Shimmer polishes on the way!

Have a great day and as always,
Happy Lacquering! =)

KB Shimmer Band Geek

Hello Lovelies! Today I am so happy to share one of many new polishes I picked up from Christy at KB Shimmer. This is the beautiful Band Geek. I was drawn to this color because I am a huge fan of black polish and I was fascinated by the metallic flecks of gold. Plus, I don't have any other polish quite like Band Geek, so I was pretty stoked to try it out.

Christy describes this polish as a "Black jelly base to represent the oboe and clarinet, several sizes of sliver, copper, and gold to capture the flutes, horns, drums, and the rest of the band." And I am happy to say that Band Geek was everything I had hoped it would be...and more.

As a glitter lover, Band Geek was an absolute DREAM.
I could have easily stopped with two coats, but I loooove my glitter nice and opaque, so I went with three coats.
The glitter was a touch on the thicker side, but I personally found it very easy to work with.
I used two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it out. Pure Gorgeousness.
I am so happy with KB Shimmer Band Geek!

You can find Christy on FB and her homepage. KB Shimmer products can also be purchased on etsy. Christy has other products as well that I have heard rave reviews about.

Have you tried KB Shimmer Polish? What is/are your favorite color(s)?

Keep a look out for my next post(s)...I have more KB Shimmer polishes on the way!

Have a great day and as always,
Happy Lacquering! =)

Shimmer Giveaway Polishes

Hello Lovelies! I had a wonderful surprise last weekend when I found out that I had won a giveaway from Shimmer Polish. When my package came, I was super excited to see what polish would be inside. I was stunned to find TWO gorgeous, glitterly, shimmery polishes in my prize pack! They've both been named Giveaway. =)

The first bottle of Shimmer Giveaway has small glitters in green, gold, and bright pops of red. It was difficult to capture this polish because the colors were so bright and sparkly.
This mani was done using A England Dragon undies and one coat of Gelous.

The second bottle of Shimmer Giveaway blew me away the moment I saw it. It was love at first sight! Small teal, light purple and dark purple glitters are accented with medium sized light purple hex glitters.
Absolutely heavenly.
This mani was done using A England Avalon undies and one coat of Gelous.
Both polishes went on like a dream. The glitters were perfectly dispersed and both were one coaters (with A England undies). I would definitely recommend that you add some Shimmer in your life! You can find Shimmer polishes on etsy or her home page. Make sure to visit her Facebook page, too. Polishes are $12 and she will make custom polishes for $15.

I hope you enjoyed my Shimmer Giveaway Swatches. They are both gorgeous polishes and she has lots of others to check out in her shops.
Have a fantastic week-end and as always,

Happy Lacquering! =)

Crows Toes Absolum-your potions master

Hello Lovelies! I am soooo excited to share one of my new polishes with you...it has been one of my lemmings for months. Have you all tried the amazing Crows Toes polishes yet? Well, I am thrilled to be wearing Absolum-your potions master. Absolum is jam-packed with the perfect mix of green, teal, blue and silver hex glitter with pops of orange hex glitter in just the right places! There are also the coolest and skinniest black bar glitter pieces I have ever seen mixed in.
In my opinion, Absolum is one colorfully unique masterpiece.
This mani is showing a teeny tiny touch of wear on the tips, as it is 3 days old in these pics.
To create this look, I used a england Saint George for the base color. It took me forEVER to decide on which polish to use for my undies, but I really love how these turned out!

Crows Toes Absolum went on like a dream and only required one coat. I dabbed a glob in the middle of my nail and then spread the polish out evenly. The glitter went on perfectly for me and I only needed my tweezers once for a runaway black bar glitter piece. I used one coat of Gelous to smooth it out and one coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Lauri, the creative genious behind Crows Toes, has a blog that will keep you up-to-date on everything Crows Toes related, including polls and release dates of new polishes. You can purchase Crows Toes from Leah Ann at Llarowe (where I got my pretties) or from Kim at Overall Beauty. You have got to go see all of the beauties that both ladies have available!!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures of Absolum...I'm sure enjoying my nails! Have a wonderful day & as always,

Happy Lacquering! =)

Teal Tuesday: Star Tealicure & Summer Challenge: Chelsea Flower Show

Hello Lovelies! Teal Tuesdays are dedicated to celebrating the gorgeousness of all that is teal. I have been a major slacker as a member of this awesome group, so I had a LOT of fun with this week's theme: the Star Tealicure! ^.^

To create my mani, I used Glitter Gal Marine Blue for my base color. The stars were created with Sinful Colors Nail Art Bonjour with a pinch of China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Here is my Star Tealicure:

I have a second mani to share with you, too! (My nails had to be significantly trimmed due to a massive break, so that explains the difference in nail lengths between these two photo shoots.) This Summer Challenge is packed full of interesting and exciting new ideas for me to try out. YaY!  Can you tell that I'm excited about this Challenge?!? lol I hope you enjoy!
For my Summer Challenge: Chelsea Flower Show mani, I used a england Dragon for my base color. The flowers were created using Finger Paints Paper Mache, China Glaze Dance Baby, and China Glaze Purple Panic (Neon).
Here is my Chelsea Flower Show mani:

Layla Mercury Twilight & Ultra Violet

Hello Lovelies & happy sunny week-end!! It is so gorgeous here today that I spent the entire afternoon weeding just one of our flower gardens with my hubby. The sun felt awesome and the flowers are blooming like crazy already. I also took a few breaks to feed the fish in our pond some bread with my daughter. :] Needless to say, it's time to start grilling supper and I'm already tired!

I have been in a bit of a nail art "slump" (for lack of better term) lately, which is why my posts have been so few and far between. Thankfully, I will have The Purple Crumpet Fairy Summer Challenge to help inspire me over the next few months, which will be wonderful. Also, I have a number of indie polishes that I have been stashing that are still in my untried pile that are in dire need of some attention. ^.^

For today, I want to simply share a few swatches of beautiful color with you...since I am Colorsplash Nails. :) I am always drawn to holographics and I was immediately in love with these the moment I saw them released. I am still working on perfecting my application technique and of course, the pictures are NEVER as good as in person, but I still adore the living daylights out of these girls.

I present to you, Layla Mercury Twilight.
 And, Layla Ultra Violet.
Have you tried any of the Layla Holographic Effects yet? I found mine tucked away on a bottom shelf at my Ulta store. :)

I hope you all have a magnificent week-end and as always,
Happy Lacquering! =)

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Hatched

Hello Lovelies! As I mentioned in my earlier post, this week has been an AMAZING nail mail week for me. I am still stunned that I am the proud owner of Whimsical Ideas by Pam polishes. If you haven't checked out her Facebook page to see how beautiful her polishes truly are, you owe it to yourself to take a peek. (I apologize for being such an enabler, polish addicts. lol!) :]

For today's mani, I used the fabulous Whimsical Ideas by Pam Hatched. Hatched completely reminds me of those yummy bubble gum eggs you can find around Easter...except WAAAAAY prettier! This polish applied perfectly for me and covered in 3 coats. I love the bright glitters and hex glitters that pop over the yellow base color. Hatched is a slam dunk for me! ^.^
