Spring Challenge: Spring Splatter

Hello Lovelies! For today on The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, my task was to create a Spring Splatter!

To create this mani, I used White on White and Seche Vite for my base. Then I tried using a straw to get the splatter effect using four different China Glaze colors: Something Sweet, Bahamian Escape, Re-Fresh Mint, and Sweet Hook.

The straw method was hilarious for me, as the polish sort of flew all over in great big splotches. I will definitely try this again, but with a much smaller straw next time. Clean up was fairly easy because I taped around my nails, which saved me tons of time in the long run. Without further ado, I shall show you my HUGE Spring Splats.

Here's my Spring Splat Splatter:

Spring Challenge: Nest with Birds Eggs

Hello Lovelies! For today on The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, my task was to paint a Nest with Birds Eggs. Nothing says Spring like baby birdies chirping in a nest! Awww!

To create this mani, I used China Glaze Ga Ga For Green as my base color and for the tree branches, CG Street Chic. For the rest of the design, I used CG Solar Power, CG Bahamian Escape, CG Sun Worshiper, CG Dance Baby, CG Liquid Leather, & CG White on White.

I think my design looks like many things, but very little like a nest with birds eggs. >.< It looks more like some funky flower. Or maybe an alien cat. I'm not sure. What do you think?

Here's my "Nest with Birds Eggs" (I use this phrase loosely, mind you):

Hello Lovelies! For today on The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, my task was to paint Lambs. Baaaa baaaa! It turns out that I just happen to looooove my lamb mani. The ears were a tad difficult to paint, but overall, I'm thrilled with my lil' fluff balls. O.O

To create this mani, I used China Glaze Flying Dragon as my base color. To paint my lambies, I used CG White on White and CG Black Leather.

Looky at my Lambs!!

Hello Lovelies! For today, I wanted to share my newest discovery at Rite Aid~Scherer Chameleon nail polishes. The reviews on these polishes are mixed and somewhat negative. However, I personally thought that Blue Sky was AMAZING! I took tons of pics and still had a difficult time capturing the gorgeousness of Chameleon Blue Sky.

Take a lookie lou!
Have you tried any of the Scherer Chameleon polishes? If so, was it a good experience for you, too?

Spring Challenge: Bulb to a Flower

Hello Lovelies! For today on The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, my task was to paint a Bulb to a Flower! Eeek. I was seriously nervous about this puppy. The hubby says it looks good, but I think he's basically "programmed" to say everything looks good at this point. hee hee! I'll let you guys decide.

To create this mani, I used a plethora of my pretties...the sky is China Glaze Kinetic Candy and a tiny bit of CG White on White. The ground is CG Street Chic and CG Swing Baby. The daffodils are CG In Awe of Amber and CG White on White (bulb); Kiss Nail Art Beach Green and Stripe Rite It's So Easy in Green (stems); and CG Lemon Fizz, CG Solar Flare, CG Lighthouse, and CG Sun Worshiper (daffodil).
Whew!!!!

Here is my finished work:

What do you think? My bulbs kinda look like jellyfish to me. >.<

Holo Zebra

Hello Lovelies! I am so happy to be online this evening~ I was without internet all of yesterday and most of today...and I've been going through some serious blog-withdrawl! The bonus was that I had some extra time to create a few cool manis for future posts...and clean my house. ^.^
The mani I want to share with you tonight is my Holo Zebra. I LOVE this one because I used two of my faves for the base color: Nubar Kiwi and KleanColor Holo Green. Both of these colors are must-haves as far as I'm concerned. The Nubar Kiwi takes about 3 coats to reach full opacity (which I didn't do for this particular mani) but is WELL worth it!!! And the KleanColor Holos are all fantastic! Rather than blather anymore, I'm going to start posting pics...
Here's my Holo Zebra:
Nubar Kiwi is part of the Jellybeans Collection (bottle shot only....oopsies), which is WONDERFUL!
KleanColor Holo Green is such a fabulous holo!!
I am in love with all of these holos! I picked these up from Beauty Joint for $1.75 a piece.
See how the light reflects off the polish to create a gorgeous holographic effect? These polishes are definitely well worth the inexpensive price. WOWZERS!!!
Are any of you KleanColor Holo fanatics like me? My very dear friend, Kristina, got me hooked. Thanks, Kristina!! I'm so glad they are a part of my collection. (I still need to update My Collection! Eeeks!)

Spring Challenge: Spring Gradient

Hello Lovelies! For today on The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, my task was to paint a Spring Gradient. Since I basically stink at sponging, I decided to do a springy marble gradient. Whew! I went through a LOT of colors and after I finished, I was surprised at how it turned out. Some of the colors look different once I started swirling those babies.

To create this mani, I used OPI Pine Snow as my base color. Heres how the fingers went (these are ALL China Glaze Colors):
Pinky--Sky High-Top, Bahamain Escape, & Kinetic Candy (the Kinetic Candy looks a little lost...)
Index--Coconut Kiss, Gothic Lolita, & Sweet Hook
Middle--Pool Party, Shocking Pink, & Dance Baby (Hello! Dance Baby looks purple compared to Shocking Pink!!!)
Pointer--Turned Up Turquiose, For Audrey, & Re-Fresh Mint

Here is my Spring Gradient:
My two favorites are my index and pointer finger. What do you think?

Spring Challenge: Mr. Blue Sky

Hello Lovelies! I'm pretty excited to share that for today on The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge, my task was to paint Mr. Blue Sky. My favorite color is blue, so anything blue is always awesome with me. ^.^

To create this mani, I used Orly Au Champagne, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, and Sky High-Top.

Here is my Mr. Blue Sky:
I am loving my Mr. Blue Sky...this mani is super easy and fun! I originally saw this on Jane's Nailside.blogspot and have wanted to do this for awhile now. I will definitely be doing this with other colors in the future. Thanks for the inspiration, Jane!
